Two Things I’ll Miss About Stouffville

Schell Lumber has been in Stouffville since 1922. This hardware store amazes me. The people who work there are the same folk as when I moved to town. Not only are they extraordinarily knowledgeable, I’ve found again and again and again that they’re generous with that knowledge. They’ll take the time to spend the 15 minutes talking with you about that part that costs pennies, because it is the key to what you’re doing.

The Care & Share is probably best described as a department store, except it is run by very friendly volunteers and is as much a recycling depot as a store. The Care and Share is the place you take stuff you don’t want, but is just too good to throw away. Money raised goes to worthy causes (specifically “the local and global relief, development and peace projects of Mennonite Central Committee “. )
