Radio Aurora

Looks like a new community radio station is in the works for Aurora.

Based on what I read in the Aurora Banner, Radio Aurora shares the vision I had when starting a station in Stouffville.

WhiStle Radio has received two Ontario Trillium Grants to purchase equipment. Each grant application had a clause that basically stipulates that the equipment will be donated to another, similar, not-for-profit organization if WhiStle Radio stops broadcasting. I know because I wrote the grant applications and I wrote the clauses.

WhiStle Radio has lost its’ broadcasting frequency. No steps that I’m aware of have been taken to find a way to stay on the air.

Radio Aurora should be asked if they want the equipment. It is the right thing to do.

Thanks to Jim Corrigan, radio show host, Tai Chi teacher and real estate agent for passing the article along from the Aurora Banner.
